I bought my girlfriend flowers on Friday and I didn’t realize until she had put them in a vase that I had inadvertently gotten BMW colors. That said, I did put a BMW roundel on her fridge back in January .
If there’s ever anything I’m trying to gaslight her on, it’s me getting a third BMW.
Sadly, she’s working this weekend; being a resident is no fun and I can’t wait until she’s done. I tried to go to the junkyard with a friend but his wife woke up with a fever on Thursday so that didn’t happen. So I decided to run some errands. I went to Costco and got some tasty beverages.
I also got a Costco pizza there.
When I was growing up, we rarely ate out and Costco was one of the few places we’d eat at regularly. My parents didn’t like to spend the money for us to eat out and the older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve understood. I actually cook a good amount, but I’ve eaten out a decent amount with dating. After Costco, I gave my 3 a much needed bath.
It was absolutely
filthily.
It cleaned up nicely.
I think this is the first time I’ve washed it myself since I was in Savannah and had some sick days to burn. After that, I got a shower and awakened the M3.
It was low on fuel, so I got it out and warmed it up and then filled it up. Went to the jewelry store afterwards to look at watches, because not. They didn’t have anything I needed, but considering I already bought a Day-Date at the beginning of Corona, I didn’t need to buy another Rolex during a pandemic. It was really weird to wear a mask in a jewelry store, almost wrong.
One reason I hadn’t been driving the M3 as much as I was worried it was burning oil. I actually went and got a liter to keep in the trunk; however it seems like it’s fine. It was showing low after the last oil change I had gotten, but after adding about 200 mL from a bottle, it seems good. A gasket looks like it’s starting to weep, but that’s a future problem. If anything, it’s leaking a couple mL every couple months.
Think I might do the rod bearings soon, just for peace of mind.
Other than that, just been playing some COD. Not the worst weekend ever.

Tripper LOLs at your minuscule amount of oil lost. My worst go was 790 miles/1qt. As I’m sure you know BMW will only “note” it unless you’re adding 1L every 700 miles or less. Same deal for any “s” engine.

Mine has actually been really good on oil consumption. It’s asked for oil once, and that was when I went about 9k between changes. That was when I was unemployed and also had done a lot highway miles. I had an analysis on that oil and it was squeaky clean.

Believe it or not the blackstone report on my E90 came back clean too! I have a friend with an E46 that goes through it like that. I almost never have to add on my E46. Everyone I know that owns or has owned an E39 M5 has added oil pretty frequently.
I can’t get on board with it.

I have never wanted to wash a car so much as my Alltrack. I’m just waiting for the new bumper before I make it pretty again.
Also, I’m glad you have a girlfriend. I remember that was something that made you kind of bummed for a while. My sister got a boyfriend earlier this year, and it’s made her happier. They’re both paranoid about doing things in public still, so they like to cook together, go on hikes, etc.

What happened to the bumper?
Yeah, it had made me bummed for a while. She’s a pediatrics resident, and since we’ve both been going to work, we’ve still been going out to restaurants and what not. We had been cooking together when everything was closed.

Kinda similar day over here, except way less productive. It was my roommate’s birthday last night so I opened 3 bottles of wine for the 4 of us (her GF and my friend), and we ate a carvel. Woke up feeling pretty shitty (wine flu, not corona) so I ate, then took a nap. After that, went to a brewery for a bottle pickup, stopped at Costco on the way home, and also got a pizza. Then played a bit of gta. My cars need washed, but that will happen another day. Lazy day, but at least moved a bit.

My sister (who does what you do) and her boyfriend have never worked from home or any of that.
I got rear ended last week. The damage just looks like a scuff from afar, so I’ve been driving until the collision center gets a new bumper.

It was because in halo it used to say “you were killed by a fat gerbil” and 15 year old me thought that it was funny.
